Samuel R. Hoff

Sam Hoff is an associate in the firm's Health Law and Non-Profit Organizations practices. He represents healthcare providers including hospital networks, community hospitals, physician clinics, and dental practices in a wide variety of transactional and regulatory matters. In particular, he advises providers on acquisitions and planned closures of healthcare facilities, practice start-ups and sales, employment agreements, affiliations and joint ventures, and Medicare and insurance reimbursement issues and appeals. Sam further assists providers in complying with state and federal healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and anti-kickback laws, and provides corporate and legal advice concerning day-to-day operations, policies, and procedures.

In addition to his work with healthcare providers, Sam assists all types of non-profit organizations with obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status, complying with IRS and Massachusetts regulations, employment agreements, and dissolution.

Sam brings to the firm a diverse professional background. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Bridgewell, Inc., a Massachusetts non-profit organization which provides a range of social and human services to individuals with disabilities and other life challenges. Prior to joining the firm, he gained experience as a civil litigator representing national and international corporations in product liability, premises liability, and personal injury cases. During law school, he served as a legal intern in the Massachusetts Attorney General's Non-Profit Organizations/Public Charities Division. Prior to law school, he worked as an Operations Associate for a private investment firm, and volunteered as the Event Committee Chairman for the Boston Mayflower Foundation, a Massachusetts non-profit organization which raised funds in support of disadvantaged Boston children.

Sam is a member of the Boston and Massachusetts Bar Associations. A native of Newton, Massachusetts, he enjoys spending free time with his family on Martha's Vineyard, skiing, reading, and the New England Patriots.
